Halloween in 2026 falls on Saturday, October 31st, meaning at the office and school it will be Friday, October 30th. This is how you make arrangements, choose accessories, and decorate without damage or hassle.
Halloween falls on Saturday, October 31st this year, so it will be celebrated at the office and school on Friday, October 30th. And that can go wrong in two ways. Either nobody does anything and a garland is hastily hung up at four o'clock. Or one colleague comes in full costume while the rest have a pin on their sweater and the client at the counter doesn't know what's happening. Both can be prevented with half an hour of preparation and a few agreements.
First, agree on how far it goes
Dressing up at work only works if everyone maintains the same level. Choose one and communicate it a week in advance:
Level 1 — one accessory. A pin, a headband, or a tiara with your regular clothes. Works for customer contact, in healthcare, and in offices with a dress code.
Level 2 — accessory plus color. Wearing black or orange, with a mask or wings. Great for a classroom, a warehouse, or a team day.
Level 3 — costume. Only if everyone participates AND there are no customers present.
Immediately set two boundaries: no fake blood or makeup for people working with food, customers, or small children, and no masks that fully cover the face during work itself. For those who want to use blood effects outside of work hours, a Fake Blood Set with Syringe and Refill for €9.95 is available — but agree that it will be removed afterwards, as it stains textiles.
One accessory is usually enough
The cheapest and safest level is also the most practical: everyone gets the same small accessory and otherwise just wears their regular clothes. Here's a selection of what works:
In a rented building or classroom, the most important rule is: nothing that requires drilling holes and nothing that leaves adhesive residue on painted surfaces. Use Self-adhesive Hooks 6x6 cm, 10 pieces (€5.95) on smooth surfaces, and hang the rest from existing points: lamps, window frames, cabinet edges.
LED Balloons, 5 pieces (€2.95) instead of candles. No open flames in a workplace or classroom, not even in a pumpkin.
Neon Gloves in 4 colors (€5.95) if you want to hang the decorations on people rather than on the wall.
Hang everything up on the day itself and take it down at the end of the afternoon. Decorations that stay up until mid-November will suddenly start to look cheap.
Treats and handouts: calculate per person
If you're giving something out, do it for everyone and keep it small. A filled treat box per person looks more organized than a bowl of candy from which the first ten people pick out the best. The Yellow Treat Box with Handle 15x8x8 cm costs €2.99 and has enough volume for a handful of goodies plus a pin.
Imagine: a team or class of twenty, Level 1 with a drink or break afterwards.

That's more than €5 per person. If you want to spend less, replace the tiaras with one shared set of masks for the photo and put the budget into treats. If you want to spend more, add a pin per person — that's the only item people will continue to wear afterwards.
Cleaning up and storing for next year
Agree beforehand who will clean up afterwards, otherwise it will still be there Monday morning. What you keep should be sorted by type into separate boxes: hard accessories (tiaras, masks, glasses) can go together, textiles and gloves separately, and self-adhesive hooks should be discarded — reused adhesive strips rarely last a second year. Label the lid with what's inside and for how many people, so next autumn you'll immediately know what to reorder.
Order on time: in the second half of October, popular sizes and models run out, and you don't want to discover on October 29th that there are only two tiaras left in stock. Check out the Halloween assortment, party accessories, masks, and pins and badges. Do you have a group of fifty or more and want to know what can be delivered at once? Email your quantities to info@verpakkingdeals.nl, and we'll check the stock for you.
