What is NOT included? The individual parts you often forget to order

The device was in the box, the part that runs out was not. A checklist of consumables, spare parts, and wear parts that you'd better order right away.
You unbox a new pricing gun, price eighty items, and then the print becomes faint. The gun isn't broken: the ink roller is empty. Something like this doesn't cost money, it costs an afternoon. And it's almost always due to the same thing: the device was in the box, the part that runs out wasn't.
Below are the items where this most often goes wrong, and what you actually need with them. Not a list of our entire assortment, but the things we get asked about afterwards: where do I order that loose roller?
Three types of "not included"
It helps to distinguish between three situations. They each require a different ordering time.
Consumables. Stickers, tape, ink, batteries. These run out during use. You always want to have one spare.
Loose parts. The frame is included, the filling isn't. Think of a balloon arch without balloons. You order these immediately, otherwise the item is useless.
Wear parts. Blades, rollers, caps. The tool lasts for years, the part that makes contact doesn't.
When in doubt: read the product title again. If a number is stated ("5500 stickers and 2 ink rollers"), you know exactly what you're getting. If nothing is mentioned, assume it's not included.
Pricing and labeling: the stickers run out before the gun
A pricing gun is one of the few devices where you have two consumables at once: the sticker rolls and the ink roller. The MX-5500 Red Pricing Gun (€ 24.95) comes with 5500 stickers and 2 ink rollers; the blue version (€ 24.95) with 5500 stickers and 3 ink rollers.
Sounds like a lot. But 5500 stickers for an average market stall or store inventory is a matter of weeks, not years. Therefore, order in advance:
For those who want to be done in one go: the MX-5500 Pricing Gun with 50,000 white price stickers costs € 59.95. That's significantly more economical per sticker, but consider storage space and the fact that adhesive doesn't last forever.
Packing and shipping: tape, blades and the dispenser
The same applies to cutting. A knife lasts a long time, the blade doesn't. Anyone who opens boxes daily replaces the blade more often than they think — a dull blade tears cardboard and damages the contents underneath. Spares: Utility knife blades 3 pieces (€ 4.95) or immediately a set of 8 utility knives (€ 4.95).
If you're shipping valuable items, there's something else that no one typically has at home: security seal stickers VOID, 60 pieces (€ 9.95). You only realize you're missing them when a customer calls to say the box was open.
Party: the arch, the balloons and the candles
The clearest example in our assortment is simply in the title: the Balloon Arch (excluding balloons) for € 30.00. You buy the frame. You choose the balloons yourself, for example LED balloons 5 pieces (€ 2.95) or a foil balloon set of 6 pieces (€ 10.00). Calculate in advance how many balloons your arch needs to fill; on the morning itself, that's no longer a fun calculation.
For the cake, the same principle applies in miniature. Name candles for birthdays cost € 1.00 each and come in 100 names — nice, but something you order the week before, not on the day itself.
Power: which batteries are not included?
For a significant portion of toys, gadgets, and party lights, the description states "battery-operated." This rarely means they are included. Check which type and how many are needed and stock up on AAA: Panasonic AAA zinc, 4 pieces (€ 9.95) or Dynamic Energy R03 AAA, 16 pieces, 1.5 V (€ 5.95).
If something works on USB instead of batteries, the problem shifts to the cable. It kinks at the plug, always in the same spot. A set of cable protectors (4 pieces) costs € 1.95 and extends the life of a cable you would otherwise throw away after six months.
Staples, cartridges and other small holes
Two things that run out at the wrong moment in every office or workshop. Staples, 3000 pieces cost € 2.60 — do check which size your stapler requires, as that is precise. And if you have a glue gun, that device is the part that stays: the glue gun cartridges, 12 pieces (€ 5.00) are what you replenish annually.

How much do you order in advance?
A simple rule of thumb works better than a system you don't keep up with: one unopened spare of each consumable in the cupboard. When that spare is opened, order a new one the same day. This way you never have to calculate and you never stop working.
For autumn, this is especially relevant. From October, peaks rise — parties, shipping intensity, the December month — and that is precisely the period when you don't want to wait two days for an ink roller. Go through your pantry once in September and you'll have peace of mind for the rest of the year.
