You don't choose a gift box by taste, but by size. All sizes from our assortment at a glance, with dimensions and price, sorted by what fits inside.
The gift is on the table, the box around it is two sizes too big, and you've filled the rest with tissue paper. It doesn't look bad, but it doesn't feel complete either. The exact opposite happens just as often: you push a necklace into a box it doesn't really fit into, and the clasp sticks out from under the lid.
Choosing a gift box is not a matter of taste but of measurement. Below are the sizes currently in stock, with their dimensions and prices, sorted by what you can fit in them. This way, you no longer have to guess — you place your gift next to the list, and you'll know which box you need.
First measure, then choose
Measure your gift in three directions: length, width, and height, in the position it will be in the box. Add half to a full centimeter to each measurement for the filling. If your gift is tight against the cardboard, you'll see every imperfection, and the lid will bulge.
Pay extra attention to the height. With flat boxes, this is the dimension that most often causes problems: a watch or a thick bracelet of three centimeters will not fit into a box one and a half centimeters high, no matter how spacious it otherwise is.
Flat and small: jewelry, cards, and vouchers
For anything flat that fits in your hand, these are the smallest options:
The 9 x 6.5 cm boxes are the workhorses: a necklace, a pair of earrings, a keychain, or a folded voucher fit easily. If you want something squarer, the 9.15 x 9.15 cm version is more convenient, for example, for a bracelet that you lay rolled up.
With a window: when the gift can sell itself
A window box works well if the gift looks beautiful and doesn't need further wrapping — think of a decorated soap, a cookie, a small figurine, or a set of jewelry on a card. The window is also the disadvantage: there's no longer a surprise, and fingerprints on the film are noticeable.
The last one, 11 x 10.5 x 12.5 cm, is the only tall window box in the range. A mug, a candle, or a small bottle can stand upright in it — handy, because with these products, you want the recipient to see what it is right away.
Slightly larger: mugs, candles, and sets
As soon as your gift is no longer flat, you'll end up with cubes and medium-sized boxes:
White cube gift box, 12 x 12 x 12 cm — € 2.99. Spacious enough for a mug with filling around it, or for three to four small items next to each other.
Yellow treat box with handle, 15 x 8 x 8 cm — € 2.99. The handle makes it suitable for handing something to someone; narrow and tall, so think of sweets, a bottle, or a rolled-up scarf.
Here, two types of boxes diverge. A gift box is designed to be handed over; a shipping box must also survive a sorting center. The assortment includes a few boxes that do both:
The flat variants of 2.6 and 3 cm high are interesting if you want to send something through the letterbox. What exactly is allowed varies by carrier; PostNL lists the current maximum dimensions on their letterbox parcel page. Measure your box including any filling and label, because those few millimeters decide whether you pay the letterbox rate or the parcel rate.
Keep in mind: you pay that price per item. For one gift, that's fine, but for twenty corporate gifts, it adds up quickly. Compare it with a simple €1.99 box with a ribbon or sticker — for a fraction of the price, it also looks neat.
The filling
A box that's too spacious can be saved with filler. Pink foam hearts, approximately 77 pieces cost €4.99 and fill the void without adding weight. A cheaper route is a strip of bubble wrap of 50 x 500 cm (€5.00 for five meters) at the bottom of the box, with a layer of tissue paper over it. Less festive, but your gift won't slide around.
In short
Flat and small up to 2.9 cm high: jewelry box or flat gift box with window, €1.99 to €4.95.
Small but with height: gift box with window 8.5 x 6 x 3 cm, €2.99.
Mug, candle or set: cube 12 x 12 x 12 cm or luxury box with window 11 x 10.5 x 12.5 cm, €2.99.
Also needs to be shipped: shipping box 15 x 10 x 4 cm (€1.99) or a letterbox box around it.
Extra finish desired: the luxury boxes from €6.99 to €7.99, or a basic box with ribbon.
