Large inflatable party supplies — palm tree, guitar, crown, XXL band — fill an empty room for little money. What fits which theme and how do you ensure they last for multiple parties?
A party where everyone dresses up or makes themed snacks is one thing. A party with a 1.80-meter inflatable palm tree hanging from the ceiling is another story. Inflatable props are inexpensive, they fill an empty corner of the room, and they look great in photos. Handy for a birthday, a themed party, or just for the office Christmas drinks. In this article, we list what's available and what to consider regarding dimensions, material, and storage.
Why Inflatables Work
Traditional party decorations — garlands, balloons, air balloons — are fine for the basics, but visually quickly disappear against a busily decorated room. A large inflatable prop like a guitar, a palm tree, or giant lips, on the other hand, immediately catches the eye. An added benefit: inflating takes a few minutes with a ball pump or balloon pump, and afterward, you can fold it flat into a shoebox. For the price of a large floral wreath, a nearly half-meter chandelier can be in your room twenty minutes later.
For a Tropical or Summer Theme
A summer theme doesn't have to stay in July. A Hawaiian evening in November works precisely because the contrast with outside is so great. Think of:
Do you want one really big item as a centerpiece? Then we have these:
XXL Inflatable Tire 2 meters — €29.95. Two meters is substantial; consider ceiling height and doorway width when moving.
Inflatable Crown — €5.95. For the birthday person or on the throne chair.
Practical Tips: Inflating, Hanging, Storing
Inflating: a hand pump or balloon pump works faster than by mouth. For larger pieces, a bicycle pump with an adapter helps. Don't inflate it completely taut — a little give prevents the material from cracking due to heat.
Hanging: use thin fishing line or invisible thread instead of tape on walls. Tape often pulls off wall paint.
Moving: be careful with pine needles, thumbtacks, and sharp furniture corners. One puncture is enough.
Storing: let the air out thoroughly before folding, otherwise, you'll get tears at the folds. Store in a dry box, away from direct sunlight.
Multiple parties: a repair patch (from the Water Toys collection where most inflatable products come with them) significantly extends the lifespan.
